I am retired and a moderately accomplished woodworker living in Maine. I have made several Shaker pieces using "Fine Woodworking" magazine as my "teacher". I am fortunate enough to know someone who owns a private sawmill from whom I am able to get Cherry at affordable prices.
The power equipment (in my basement) that I have is:
1. Saw Stop table saw
2. General jointer
3. Dewalt 13" planer
4. Rikon 14" band saw
5 Performax 16-32" drum sander
6. Powermatic mortiser
7. hand made router table with Milwaukee variable speed router installed
All of these tools were purchased over several years of careful searching mostly used.
