Hello from Florida. I have made (dismantled and remade) several duplicators over the years and now that I am old and retired, I finally made one that I am satisfied with. It is a small bench top version that is strictly for knife and handgun grips.
I really need to make a rotary holding device to complete my router.
Welcome. Would you mind taking a couple of pictures so we can see it? It sounds like you've put considerable thought into this. If you load the pictures onto your computer, you can post them easily. In the line of symbols below the posting area, you'll see a rectangle that looks like a picture. Click on it and a popup box appears. Then use your file explorer to find the pictures and then drag and drop the pictures into the pop up box.
Looks like you might want to tie two spindles together with gears or belts so they turn identically when rotated. Personally, I would use gears instead of belts.
Yes. two geared spindles would work best. Making it will be a lot more challenging than the x-y table.
If I don’t gear them together I will index them.
