Hi everyone,

I recently retired and am bringing my JoinTech IPM1 out of mothballs. I am searching for a copy of the JoinTech "Through-Dovetail Templates 12 EZ-View Templates" manual.

I found two manuals here, JoinTech's Reference Handbook (color pdf), and IPM Ultra Precision Woodworking System Handbook Catalog No. TM-36 (black and white pdf).

Does anyone have a copy of the Jointech IPM Ultra Precision Woodworking System Through-Dovetail Templates 12 EZ-View Templates manual? And perhaps a color pdf or original TM-36?

Mine got wet in storage and the pages are now welded together. Tried soaking - no joy.

The templates themselves are in great shape as they are made of plastic. I just need the instructions on how to use them.

If someone has a copy they'd be willing to loan me I'd be happy to color scan to pdf and send the originals back!

Don't fell bad Russ. I once went to a Woodnet gettogether and let a member use my Leigh dovetail manual. Still haven't got it back. Maybe 12 years now..

I did see that eBay listing. Just not sure what is in that collection that is not in my two books. I can't compare because I can't read my 12 templates book. Bummer. But I just went ahead and bought that one on eBay. Thanks for giving me a push. Won't hurt having all three.

Still searching for the color 36 and 12 templates... will post here if I ever track them down!

Some time ago, actually several times, I have posted the digital files for printing the IPM-1 strips. They print out on 8 1/2 X 11 quality photo paper with a photo quality inkjet printer the best. There are 4 different files, and contain every strip that Jointech made for the IPM-1 in color. You then need a good guillotine type paper cutter to separate them. I never had a manual, but do have these files somewhere. If they can't be found doing a search on this site, let me know and I'll try to find and post them again. I'm a bit rushed at the moment, so it may be a few days.

Back when I bought my IPM-1, the president of Jointech was doing the demonstrations at the woodworking show and he had sold every one that he had brought to the show. I ordered mine from him and received it 2 weeks later. I got Serial # 00251. At the time there was no manual or Youtube instructions, only his demonstration to go by. He said that they had brought 20 IPM-1 units with him and that they were all gone in the first hours of the show, and that the factory was building them as fast as they could and he would send one to me within 2 weeks post paid if I ordered one from him that day. I guess that they hadn't expected the IPM-1 or 2 to be as popular as they were.

I still have my IPM-1 and use it frequently on my router table. I didn't buy the IPM-2 because I had no intention to use it on my table saw Some time before Jointech went out of business, I had called CS to see if I could buy the additional strips that had been designed and released after I had purchased my IPM-1. The guy said that they no longer stocked the strips or the manual, but that he would send me the files so I could print my own strips. This is how I ended up with those files. I'm still looking for a copy of the manual too, but no longer looking very hard for it. Please remember me if you should find a copy.

I bought my IPM1 from a woodworking show in Cleveland, Ohio back in '96. I could have spent a fortune at those shows! LOL. I bought mine from a dealer called Woodpeckers. Along with Woodpecker's router table. I was given tips on making the table square: bolt 'L' bar steel under the table and use paper shims and a straightedge to adjust until flat. I've put everything back together in the last couple weeks, and ordered a 24 inch OEM straight edge off Amazon. I'll be rechecking and adjusting the table this week for 'flat'.

I'll definitely let you know if I find a copy of the manual(s) and post them back here.

I have the JoinTech woodworking binder, in prestine condition, and will be scanning and posting it soon here.

The IPM-1 makes a very accurate and easy to set fence positioner for a router table fence, but I later got into doing some larger projects and ended up buying the Leigh D4R for dovetails because I could make them much faster with less chance for error. The IPM-1 does a great job of getting accurate router fence positions though. It was just too slow for big dovetail jobs.

I don't do a lot of projects, so I'm going to stick with the IPM-1 for now.Still looking for a good copy of the manuals. Have an active search on eBay, so hopefully one day something will show up. Russ

This is a great pdf, but not one of the ones I'm looking for.

I'm looking for:

- IPM Ultra Precision Woodworking System Handbook Catalog No. TM-36 - Color Copy. The one I've found here is black and white.

- Jointech IPM Ultra Precision Woodworking System Through-Dovetail Templates 12 EZ-View Templates. My was totally destroyed by water and I don't have a copy in B&W or Color.

Hi Charley, hope this note finds you!

I'm missing template 19 for variable spaced box joints. So I just tried printing off template 01, but can't get it to the right dimensions. I'm using Photoshop and tried resizing to 8 1/2 x 11 and it prints off too small. According to Photoshop template 01 is 3.733 inches wide by 6.667 tall. Here's a comparison of # 18 that I still have versus the printed jpg. The printed #18 is above the original #18.

What did you use to print the templates that got them accurate enough to use?
