It is nice to meet those of you who dwell on this site. I'm new on this site and look forward to getting to know some of you and hopefully we can learn from each other!
I'm 50 years old and have a fairly complete shop with several table saws, two lathes, a bandsaw, shaper, jointer, sliding compound miter saw/stand, radial arm saw, planer, scroll saw, two sanders, several routers, and one heavy duty router table built into a bench a made years ago. I've done this for many years having learned much from my father when I was growing up. The older I get the more I realize how we must keep our mind open in this information age that we live in. If our eyes are open there is a constant flow of good ideas......and we're never too old to pick up new and better ideas!
I am a looking to purchase a router table. I've been looking primarily at some of the Benchdog tables, Rockler tables, and, most especially the RT1000XL has recently caught my eye. Do any of you own one of these and, if so, how do you rate this router table? I need an additional table because I often have two or more projects going at once and it helps me to leave machines pertaining to a specific project set up for that project. I find this is also helpful with table saws! Anyway, if any of you have thoughts or opinions particularly on the RT1000XL I would appreciate hearing them. I do like the in cabinet bit storage that would come with this type of cabinet.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
