Hi all
Been registered for a little while and been perusing the posts.
I wonder if I could get some advice re: router table.
I picked up an old Tool dock router table for $100.
It is solidly built of metal and has a 1 1/4" mdf table top.
It also works as an outfeed table for my table saw.
Problem is that the plexi insert sags and the fence is cheap plastic
I have been looking at the Woodpecker metal insert but am wondering what
to do about the fence.
I have been able to use it as a vertical jointer by shimming out one of the fences
in order to straighten out some stock for my front porch project.
But for any finer work it doesn't really work well.
Saw a nice table for sale recently at my local tool shop for $170
with a very nice totally aluminum adjustable fence (can't remember if Jessem or Kreg)
But since I have this one and it works well as outfeed table would like to see
if I could build a decent fence for it. Or should I unload it and buy a new one?
Comparable ones to the one that was on sale seem to be $400 or so, pretty well out of my budget right now.
Thanks

Hello James, welcome to the forum.
I think I would try to build one first.
