A- Get a face shield
B- Understand the feed direction.
C- Get a feel for your router by starting with a simple straight bit ¼ or ½ shank and junk wood and do << small passes >> removing no more than 1/8 at a time against a straight edge or something.
D- Note the offset of router bit cut edge to your straight edge.
E- Practice and you’ll be good to go.
