Hello all,
I am new to the world of Woodworking. Been involved now for about 3 months. Strange the way things worked out, I started with a wood lathe with focus on making bowls. Wow, what a turn I made. My wife bought me a table top saw for Christmas and I started cutting some wood with it. I had never had such a tool and my path went the way of making toys out of wood.

I have a sight impaired Grandson who is 4yo. I tried to build a truck for him, what a mess. I was ready to throw it all in the lake. (Still have that first attempt.) But I am hanging in there and thanks to the internet, forums like this and all the support you get from those who have gone before. Thank Ya'll!!!

I have completed four trucks from plans I purchased. I still remember the tears that came from my eyes when my Grandson did not ignore it but plays with that first truck for hours on end. With the collection growing, he still spends hours with the trucks. Uses them in ways I never considered. Today he gets a new Dump Truck, first to be painted (not stained) and it has his name on the side. Hope he likes it.

I am a Disabled Veteran of the Vietnam Era. I have a lot of time on my hands. I now spend it working with woood, not watching TV. My problem is I don't go so fast and it takes me quite a bit of time to complete a project. But I go till I can't.

Thanks for letting me intro myself. Hope to spend a lot of time learning from all of you pros. Hope to one day be able to make toys like some of ya'll do. WOW the things I have seen here. BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!!!

Have a great day...Don (WoodDawg)
