New to the forum and need a little help - insert plate for Skil model 1810 fixed base

I would simply buy one at Amazon with FEWER "predrilled holes" and drill 4 countersunk holes to match my router

Thanks for the suggestion and the link. Looks like this one would work. Reviews say the surface of the plate is rough. Not sure how much of an issue that would be, but I could sand it smooth if needed.

Contact a couple of plate makers and ask if they have a plate pre-drilled for that model. Start here: Oak Park Enterprises Ltd. - Router Table, Router, Router Bits, Router Jigs, Router Accessories

After a LONG search, I cannot find anything on a router plate for this model. The skill table uses a clamp to hold the router under their proprietary table. I recall having one of these and the table a long time ago. I dumped it for $50 and got a Bosch 1617, for which you can get plates anywhere. Skill seems to be another brand name scooped up to have its brand exploited. OK for limited projects freehand, but I think you'll wind up buying their table if you choose to stick with that router. But check the Oak-Park site before you do anything. It has a contact us form.

It does not come pre drilled for your router. Note that the poster said you will need to drill your own holes. If you do this you should use a drill press. It will take two different bits, a smaller one just a little wider than the screws/bolts that hold the router to the plate. A larger one set to a depth just slightly larger than the head of the bold. To place the holes, remove the router base and mark the locations of the holes onto the plate.

If the mounting screws have a tapered head, you will have to get the hole precisely placed. That's why pre-drilled is so nice. Check Oak Park first.

I hope Oak Park already has insert plate for the Skil 1810 with screws holes in trapezium pattern.

Not so hard to fit a router to insert plate.
Take off the sub-base from the router.
Mount the plastic insert + a 1 3/8 Porta Cable Style Guide guide bush. There are all self aligned..
In this case,
The RT0700C clone sub-base also fits perfectly into 1 3/8 guide bush. So router would also be aligned.
Carefully mark 4 holes with fine marker
Drill 4 countersunk holes on drill press.
Quite easily done.

(I got the clone router trimmer for only $AUD125 with 3 bases + accessories.
Makita RT0700C, and 18V Makita + 18V and 36V Hikoki (Metabo-HPT) Router-trimmers will all fit those bases perfectly. It also mean that Makita, Hikoki (Metabo-HPT) router-trimmers will all fit the VFD drive mounting block of my CNC machine UNCHANGED)
