ok so I needed to draw an arc, could do it a hundred ways to draw a line for it. I figured I'm going to probably need it more than once so I came up with this adjustable arc maker, I call it the EZ-ARX.....The back arm has two purposes, it holds the arc at a given distance and also keeps it flat on the table or piece your working on while you draw the line. It folds flat on a hinge for storage.

A couple weeks I needed an arc for a bed I was building and started thinking about all the gadgets and methods I've seen and was pondering which one I was going to use. About that time my wife walked into my workshop to ask a question. I grabbed a 36 inch inexpensive metal ruler made by Johnson, had her hold one end, I flexed the ruler, held the other end and drew my arc. Took all of 30 seconds.

I will offer a possible improvement.

Instead of slots, holes at the similar places. A round disk with a peg is placed into those holes. The peg is not at the center of the disk but offset. By rotating the disk, the arc becomes infinitely variable.

I say possible because the tension of the cord may be enough to rotate the disk causing the "improvement" to be unworkable.
