Hello all!
While I am not new to woodworking, I am new here. I have never been in a position to have a wood shop of my own, so I make stuff outside when I can with cheap tools which probably make things more of a struggle than they really need to be. My first experience with a router was not good. I was given a 1/4" black and decker POS router and was using a round over bit that was not tightened enough or deep enough in the collet or something. About half way down the board the bit came out and destroyed the plastic baseplate and scared the crap out of me. For Christmas my brother-in-law gave me an old router table that had a Makita 3612 plunge router in it that wouldn't plunge at all. It cleaned up very well and now I have a working non-POS router (I hope). So I am here to learn.
