Hello,
New Router owner here...
Or should i say Used Router owner here.
I just purchased a used Ryobi RE180 plunge router from home depots returns shelf.
I noticed before purchase it was missing the collet and collet nut aswell as the depth shaft.
Thinking i could find a cheap collet online i happily purchased the Router for 25$.
After looking online the 1/2" OEM collet assembly is 45$
My question is would other 1/2" collet assembly's be compatible with this router?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated,

The broke beginner.

Any Sears router with the first 3 numbers 315. is made by Ryobi. Maybe there is one that has the same collet. You could go to a repair shop and see if any not repairable routers interchange but probably not likely since Ryobi may be making their own.

The best interchange collet/nut guide I am aware of is on the Musclechuck site. Type 7 Musclechuck or the collet/nut from one of the three Ridgid routers will fit your Ryobi John.

Check out the interchange guide here: Musclechuck - Instructions - Quick Change Router Chuck
