Next wave CNC pinout

Does anyone know the pinout of the 20 pin connector on the front of the shark controller? i am trying to control my spindle on/off/speed with the g code but i cannot find which pins are the data pins on the connector. i know that the new sharks are coming with this capability, but i dont see the cable on the website by itself so i'm goning to make my own. thanks in advance.

20 pin connector on the front of the shark controller

But the 20 pin connector on the front of the shark controller is for the Next Wave laser module
NOT for controlling a spindle/router.

(Shark was designed to use a Bosch 1617 and 1618 (2.25 hp), Porter-Cable 890 Series (2.25 hp), and DeWalt 610 (1.5 hp), 616 (1.75 hp), 618 (2.25 hp) routers woodworking router (& NOT A VFD SPINDLE) so you are expected to switch on/off and change the RPM at the router itself I suppose)

From What I understand:-
If and only if, you buy the 3HP Spindle kit, & also buy the custom version of VCarve Pro from them, then Shark will also give you a LICENSED firmware upgrade to your controller to support controlling the 3HP Spindle via software.

No its just a cable and update the post porcesser, here are the directions for installing the cable, i just dont know what the sr485 data pins are

So you are assuming that you can control via STD ISO G-CODE?
I do hope you are right.

And you don't even need to know the data pins.
Just follow the RED, BLACK and GREEN colors of the cable. Just add a jumper.

So cabling diagram in the document shows that it is using MODBUS (RS485) protocol and NOT the usual AI1 (0-10)V analogue control.

STD RS485 cabling may give some clues. Use Continuity tester to check.

The cable you are referring to is just a replacement power cable from the VFD to the spindle. it doesn't have anything to do with the signal from the controller to the VFD. and as far as following the red black and green, thats the problem, i know where to put them on the VFD but i don't know which ones they correspond to on the 20 pin connector.
can't you trace with a continuity tester of a multimeter. Use a narrow pin at the 20 pin connection.
The post processor turns my router on or off by editing the post processor file that turns the plug that feeds the router that is in the control box.

Actually you're wrong. I sell the Sharks, and the 20 pin connector IS used on the front of the control box. They have a 20 pin connector that has a circuit board in the connector and it's connected to the VFD as it comes from Next Wave and directly plugs into the front of the box. You're spreading FALSE information.

Do you have the pinouts OP is after?
The pin out is the 110 volt plug the router plugs into in the back of the control box. It's controlled by the post processor file. I have a post processor file that turns the spindle off for etching. The inch arc post processor file for the router has the codes in it that controls the router turning off and on. I also have a router speed controler inbetween the router plug on the control box and the router as well as a relay that handles the router power after it gets the on off from the power plug on the back of the control box this helps avoid blowing fuses in the control box next to the router power female plug.

No problem. Like other developers, Next Wave responded to the demands of their users since other systems had those capabilities. I, myself designed a simple relay system that plugged into the Router start plug that would start the VFD automatically, and just wired in a potentiometer to control the speed. Although 90% of the time I never change my speeds after starting a cut. Have a great day.
My laser that plugs into the ribbon port on the front of the control box is for laser control. It turns the power on and off to my laser. The post processor for the laser has the spindle on the router turned off so it doesn't turn your laser into a weed eater.

Correct me if I am wrong.
From what I understand, the laser option was available for all models BUT the VFD control via software only available for the HD5 series (models HD500, HD510, HD520).
In the 3HP (2.2KW) VFD kit for HD500, HD510, HD520 it says
  • Next Wave CNC’s proprietary digital interface from controller to VFD Remotely controls Spindle Power ON/OFF via G-Code Remotely controls Spindle Speed (RPM) via G-Code
In the 2HP (1.5kw) VFD kit for older models there is no software control, so users will have turn on and control the speed at the VFD console. One user in this forum is trying to sell an extension cord for the VFD inverter's console - only sensible if the Sharks VFD's cannot be controlled by software.

So please stop "beating about the bush".

Call Nextwave. Your the one beating around the bush. Call them. I own a Shark HD510 and have only had to call them 2 times and the calls were less than 5 minutes each. Both times they had me fixed up fast. So in 3 years I have only spoke with their support maybe 10 minutes. Product works great.
i have called next wave and unfortunately they won't sell me the cable and wont give the pinout. Best i can tell they are using a RS485 Serial interface using RS+ ,RS- and GND on the VFD but for the life of me i cant figure out the dada pins. i am honestly considering removing their controller and installing an openbuilds Blackbox X32 controller. i can't stand how hard it is to customize with accessories.
