Not a Polish Eagle

Been still plugging away at the usual stuff not knowing if there will be any Polish Festivals this summer or not. Not hitting it very hard, but a couple a day. Then if I got to - hit it hard if things are a go. Guess I work better under pressure.

Been a lot of questions trying to fire up those Chinese machines so I figured the American ones need to be shown that they worked just fine. Must be the instructions and support in English. lol

Had a lady from last year's festival who needed a gift for her multi year hosts at their summer place. Thanx to a BeltrmiDave file I came up with these. Carved from oak 16x14 and 16x11 glued up oak boards.

Stock pile those Eagles... maybe next year will bring in good fortune.


How is your painting doing HJ? Speaking of Scott, he hasn't been around in a while no?

Haven't been "practicing" the painting thing lately. It's very intimidating. From what I've heard, Scott's been active on Facebook and playing full time with his new rotary. I gotta get on that Facebook thing too -- but ........ ugh.

Looks good, John. I haven't even carved that file yet. I think you are missing a lot of detail though, try using a smaller ballnose on the finish pass. Yes, I know it takes longer, but it really makes the carve better...

I am ready for some open water fishing, just need to get rid of the ice and snow first!

Thje detail is actually quite good. I used a 1/8" ball nose. For some reason the light on the poly made the pics look like this. No matter how hard i tried i couldn't get the glare down enuff to show all the detail. My picture taking is like my painting ---- needs improvement.

Social media such as Facebook is the only socializing (along with this Forum) that I've been doing for quite some time now.
It keeps me in touch with people that I enjoy communicating with. Like many other things in life, there are stupid people but manly friendly people. It's amazing how many messages I see from people all over the place and end up getting them as e-mails sometimes from people thousands of miles away. Ah technology !

Looks good John. It is kind of hard to get going unless you know you have to.

I know I'm haveing trouble getting it all back together after the three weeks in the hospital. On top of that everything is blooming now and trees need a few limbs cut back and the grass is starting to grow fast with all the rain we have had. The frogs in the puddles in my yard are so loud it makes your ears hurt.
