Since I never did this the first time around.. Guess I'll do the new member post.. been a very long time lurker (spent most of my time previously on another woodworking forum.. till I got into a tangle with a moderator and some very heated discussions, needless to say, that's in the past, and I only bring it up because I use similar usernames, and I see quite a few from said forum, so consider this full disclosure).

As for my shop.. heh.. it's a mess, it shares space in my garage with pretty much everything... other than actual cars. It consists of the usual stuff, table saw/router table (when I fix the wing, just switched from the regular Delta/Biesemeyer fence to Incra TS LS, I originally had the LS25 on a dedicated table), Jet mini lathe, Delta 6" jointer, Dewalt thickness planer, various hand tools and power tools.

Openbuilds CNC / XPro v4 with a Raspberry Pi/PoE hat running CNCjs
Software is currently Fusion 360 and Eagle (for circuit board design/printing), Inkscape for text and graphics, occasionally Blender (also a 3D modelling program, but completely free, no restrictions on using it for revenue purposes, but also a steep learning curve, very much not as intuitive as Fusion).

Once day.... pictures of my garage will eventually include a car inside....

It's a good start, Jason. I had trouble finding the CNC, thought that was a piece of plywood on sawhorses until I saw the router!

Can't see much of it but I like your MINI Cooper S - we've had two of them but I finally came to the realization that going to the sawmill every 2-3 weeks for Walnut is a difficult task so we bought a Tacoma. I miss the MINI's, though.

Keep us posted with updates, changes, etc.

Hi Jason and welcome or welcome back. Your work space isn`t a lot different from some of ours.

Yeah.. like I said.. messy.. Eventually there will be a permanent table for the CNC, and the trim router in it will be replaced by a proper spindle after I reinforce the Z and X axis to avoid torquing the frame under load. I've been doing wood working since I was in primary school (South Africa, grades 1 through 7), home improvement a lot, work gets in the way of fun projects through, I'm an IT Security specialist, and travel.. a lot.. enough that I have not had to pay for hotels or plane tickets for vacations for the last 10 years or so... but I am winding down on the travel, so should have time for more fun projects..

There are actually 2 minis, my wife owns the white 18 Countryman S ALL4, I have a 17 Clubman S ALL4, both are manuals. It's a long story for another day.. but the wife bought the Clubman, decided after a year she did not like it (she is 6'1" and it is low to the ground), so she made me take it and bought the Countryman... okay.. maybe not so long story :)

As far as wood goes, I have roof racks, and a friend with an SUV and a tow hitch if I need anything more than what I can put on my roof.

Welcome and post away please. Sounds like you know your stuff.
Welcome back Jason. Hate to admit it but my shop makes yours look clean and organized lol
Hello and welcome to the router forum Jason,
Welcome Jason.

You do have the opportunity to construct your shop space still - a privilege many of us have exhausted. Combining bench space with router/tablesaw combis and other tool tricks can be enormously advantageous if the design is a good one. My shop is based on rolling carts and works well in my 1.5 garage space, where a car does reside at night.

The space between our ears is always greater than the space we have to work with! Send up some pix when you've got your shop set up...
G'day Jason, Welcome to the forum.
