Oscillating saw blades

I've found the best oscillating saw blades I've tried so far. I've purchased from this company before and the previous blades, which are the standard carbon steel ones, are good but the stainless steel ones that I bought later are unbelievable. I still haven't dulled the first one I tried and it's done so many cuts I lost count a long time ago. The company is Specialty Diamond and the brand they sell is called Versa Tool. I was a little skeptical when I bought them but I wanted some blades that were narrow (about 20mm) and they didn't have what I wanted in carbon steel in that size so I tried the stainless ones and I'm glad I did now. I'll try to get nothing but the stainless ones in the future.

The only downside to the stainless blades is that they are very thin and deflect easily but they cut wood like it's warm butter. They are also cheap. They have different size packs of the blades and as the first page of the link below shows you can get a 50 pack of 30mm for $65 which makes them $1.30 each. They fit most tools but they don't carry the open ended ones you need for a DW quick change.

That's a bewildering assortment, Charles.
Some really neat stuff there!

More practical than my engine washing wand, but also a lot pricier. :(
thanks Charles...

It's an eclectic assortment for sure. I doubt if there is any other site where you can buy oscillating saw blades and a chili roaster at the same time.

Maybe your computer has picked up some malware?
I just tried it again, after seeing your comment, Joe; No problem getting in at all.
Did you access by phone?
I can't get in either. Maybe the site doesn't like foreigners? Roger
Yep. I tried also and getting the same "Access Denied" message. I can confirm that my PC does not have any malware or virus on it.
Butr I'm an Aussie so it may be just not letting foreigners in!:frown:
I tried it again too and no issues. Maybe the site is reading your's and Joe's cookies and deciding not to allow you access? I wonder if you blocked sharing them would that make a difference?
Well, I tried and had no problems opening the link and you can bet I'll be placing an order for them next time I have an upcoming project!
That is cheaper than dirt!
Thanks for that tip Mr Chuck!
Please give Myra a hug for me and Jericho sure is missing her - she has a friend for life!

Stay out of trouble you scrawny little fellow!

Joe instead of clicking on the link just try searching for Specialty Diamond, the site where they are sold, or Versa Tool which is the brand name for the blades.

I tried by cel phone, google and got the same error. Thank you everybody.

PS, its curious that only foreings cant open the link :crying:
That's odd Joseph but maybe that is your problem. I was never able to access Sears USA site. The moment I tried I always got redirected to the Canadian Sears store and they were quite different. It didn't matter what I tried and Sears USA often had good deals that were not available from the Canadian chain of stores.

I'm looking forward to see what you think. A couple of years ago I saw a tool test in FWW and the Specialty Diamond blades came in 3rd behind Bosch and Fein in that order but they noted in the article that the SD blades were much cheaper which is what prompted me to try them and the carbon steel blades are certainly good value. I bought 25 for about $2-3 each when buying a Bosch or Fein would have cost me $12 ea or between $25-30 I think for a 3 pack. I had tried some Canadian ones prior to reading the review in FWW (Kent brand I think) and they were total garbage. They started smoking on the first cut. FWW agreed and several other brands were just as bad.

Since then I tried the stainless steel ones and all I can say is wow, what a difference. I'm still on the first one as I said in the first post but it did start smoking a bit the other day. However, it's still cutting okay and I'm in the middle of a bathroom reno and it's cut about as much drywall as it has wood. I think you'll be happy with them JOseph.

Same here.

EVIL FOREIGNERS
I guess you guys need to clean up your act then. LOL. I don`t know how to help then. The only way it seems that you would be able to order them would be by phone or get someone in the US to get them and ship them to you. That doesn`t help you to see them first but here is contact info: Toll Free 760-201-8891
Email: [email protected] The toll free number probably won`t be outside the US but the email would work.

As a complete testimonial I`ve used 4 different blades so far. The ones that came with my original tool which is possibly the same as the Harbor Freight one and they weren`t too bad. Some that I think were made by Kent here in Canada which were complete garbage. The carbon steel blades from Specialty Diamond- Versa Tool which were at least as good as the ones that came with my Mastercraft tool and cost less than $3 each. Those would make a half dozen to a dozen cuts through a 2x4 before they would get dull and start smoking. Then the stainless steel blades from Diamond Specialty -Versa Tool. The stainless blade that I`ve tried (still on the first one) has cut 5 to 10 times as much wood as any of the carbon steel blades I`ve tried and with less cutting effort. I don`t believe that you would be disappointed if you tried them. It says that they will ship anywhere in the world but minimum order is $500 for international. Maybe an email would change that with direct contact with a sales agent. I had them shipped to my brother and picked them up when I visited him so I can`t say for sure.

I got my blades(10 blades) and today got to try them out. They work great. They go through wood like a hot knife through butter. I also cut four receptical box openings in 1/2" Corian bacsplash with the same blade and it is still going. I am impressed. Thanks for the lead.
