PC 890 series base with model number 8931. The issue is it doesn't slide smoothly up or down. Slides are clean, never dropped Would like to take apart but can't get the c-clips on top off because no room to expand enough to do so. The cylinders(tube) that go into base have no pins/screws. Anyone ever had the base apart?
I use WD’s Lithium Grease spray on all my sliding surfaces- it dries and won’t collect much sawdust. Just cleaned my sliding miter saw after storing for over a year and it glides great again.
I also prefer Johnson's Floor Wax for this type of problem. Apply, let dry to a haze, and wipe off excess. It will not attract sawdust and will last 6 months or more when used for router slides. A second application can just go on over the first or others without the need to remove them. The new application will dissolve the previous and spread it evenly along with the new.
