I just checked my one table that uses a screw in safety pin and it is 2-1/4" from the center of the router shaft to the center of the pin. Another insert type plate has it about 2" from the center to center and on that one the safety pin slides in a hole.
Maybe someone else has a few they can check for you??????
I have a Rockler "large" plate and the plate has 3 pin positions. The closest pin position is 2 1/2 inches from the center of the router shaft. The other 2 pin positions are 5 inches from the center of the router shaft and are on opposite sides of the plate. The pin is a threaded 1/4" post (or bolt) with 20 tpi thread. I've attached a picture with the pin holes darkened in black so you can see them. They are parallel to the front edge of the plate.
