Plaque with contrasting woods

I have been wanting for months to do a sign or plaque with Walnut on the front and cut through to Maple below and a project finally came up where I could do that.

Here's the finished plaque -

Dave of course this could have been a inlay job but I really like the look because of the depth from the surface to the maple below. This was a great choice for this sign and something to remember when designing similar signs. I sure they were very happy with the sign.
