Purchasing tools but seller doesn't ship to Alaska

Due to where I live (Fairbanks, Alaska) I purchase the majority of my small tools through online services including eBay. I found a great deal today on eBay on a used Easy Tools jaw for the lathe $79. The seller ships to what appears to be nearly every country in the world including several 3rd world countries - yet they won't ship to Alaska and Hawaii. This company is based in the USA. It costs the same to ship to Alaska as it does to any other state in the USA - with USPS Priority - there is no extra charge (unless you go UPS or FedEx - then I have no problem paying for extra shipping fees - if I want it I want it). I find several sellers only ship one way - such as UPS or FedEx, but why can't they ship USPS Priority? - simple and insured. I am so fed up with with finding great deals which I can't purchase due to no shipping to Alaska.
eBay should have a policy if you sell from the USA - you ship to all of the USA. Especially if you ship to other countries.

Frustrating, but their choice. They just don't see enough customers, or then don't know what you know about usps. So many small tool operations are run out of little more than a garage space.

was it from a dealer or privately owned?

Make no sense I have been selling on ebay for over 15 years and ebay does have a option that you can block bidders from Alaska and Hawaii but do not see why you would there are no custom forms or other things that are involved in international shipments.

Caution Shopping Online

On Mon. Jan 25 My MasterCard was used by parties unknown, to shop online. Lucky thing, I am protected from fraudulent purchases. I am sure my MasterCard was hijacked on the Amazon site. I NO longer shop Amazon. I have never had a problem with PayPal. Try to stay safe out there!!

Wow if your not safe on Amazon , what is ? They have all my info and touch wood , no issues .
I made a donation to a Transam forum years ago , and later that day I was buying flowers for someone in Ohio . Visa reversed the charges . I'm just glad I looked at my statement for once

If shipping USPS PRIORITY it is the same flat rate whether shipping across town or to Alaska. My shipments to Anchorage, Alaska, Hawaii, Chicago, North Dakota, Florida - are the same price USPS Priority. We do pay big time when sent FedEx or UPS. Usually add one extra day for shipping to Alaska by USPS Priority - no problem with me.

I have a separate credit card account with a Very low maximum. I use it exclusively for online or telephone purchases.
If it gets misused I can live with the damage, if the CC company doesn't want to make it right. Doesn't cost anything to open a separate account.
