I have just been looking on the internet at Push Sticks. It would be interesting to see what people with 10 digits use. I like the look of the Vermont American Push Shoe Plus, not that it is available in the U.K. But a plywood version of it soon may be. What is the best you lot can offer?

Ship a few my way...I need to get a band saw or a jig saw to make some handles for push blocks and some push sticks for various sized wood. The one I have doesn't work as nice as I would like it to when I am pushing 1/4" stock.

You asked for those with 10 digits to reply. There are those of us that have 10 digets, but three have seen better days. Trust me, you will get the information from us because we have a lasting respect for the machines. You can read my post "the one post I never wanted to make" in the safety forum. Just a thought.

+1 on the GRR-Ripper! It is the safest method of moving work past any blade that I have found.

Hi

I like the GRR-Ripper also but I have found a way that's works better for me, it's the OP hold downs, you can be cutting a board up and just walk away and the board will not take off like a rocket , I now use it on all the table saws.. along with a push stick.

Yep, it works great they sale the sanding disk (7" to 12" with the hole in the center ) but I'm cheap so I make my own.

Printed out the two pics so that Scrooge downstairs gets the idea. Still trying to convince Her to buy another blade or two besides the stock blade that came with the saw and if I succeed will try that sandpaper idea on one.

If I ever find my corded jig saw will try to make some push sticks/blocks and possibly that hold down. Most things are out in the garage where I can't get to them for another month or two when things warm up and I can use my scooter and or golf cart again. Then comes the massive clean up of everything that got tossed in there while I wasn't able to see it and complain and end up taking care of the mess.

Most rip saw blades put the mark on the stock and with the sanding disk it's gone.

I did post the mfg. of the sanding disk on the forum but I will need to did it up.but here's a link to some sanding disk that work the same way..

Cannot legally use the GRR Ripper in the U.K. as we have to have a riving knife and guard on the table saw. I have lost 1/2" of my right thumb due to kick back, whilst using the planer for beveling. Tip of left hand thumb missing in a hammer and nail incident.

Show me a push stick I can make to push a half inch by 5 inch piece of wood for resawing on my band saw. In other words for use on small pieces.

Gary you can use the GRR-Ripper on the bandsaw. You can also use it on the jointer, router table and almost anywhere else you need a push stick. It has a very good gripping surface.
