Paul, it has as much to do with the router as well as the lift. The router will extend well below the bottom of the lift. the attached photo's are of my PRL-v2 with a Milwaukee 5625 installed. If you need more of an idea as far as the cabinet goes. try my thread on the cabinet I built..

Its a fantastic lift, i have very few issues with it...not sure which one you got, but if you got the metal inserts, give them a good waxing as soon as you get them. Mine all tarnished within a few days...

 

There are tons of RT prints out there and as many RT cabinet prints let alone stick builds unrelated to any store bought schematics.
There are a few options to consider regarding the cabinets interior dimensions for an outlet, table top clampdowns, lift/router combo height and diameter.

Even though you'll rarely need to pull the lift combo out, smooth removal and replacement is almost as important as ease of operation

 

Bill - Thank you for that info. That is precisely what I was looking for. And the Milwaukee 5625 just happens to be the Router I will be installing in the PRL-v2. I guess I did fail to mention that initially.
Your cabinet also included ideas I am considering. One of which is full extension slides. That or wooden slides which would give me a little extra drawer space.
Can't believe I didn't notice that thread during my research.

Hi Paul

On the one I have installed I use a floating shelf ( the pin type holding the shelf )so to speak, I can move it up or down to fit any router I put in the cabinet, you just never know what router you may want to put in the cabinet, once it's glued in place that's it , the one I'm now using needs 16" of room to use it to the max.
