hi Router fans. I'm an rookie/hobbyist woodworker. Building a few little things with the help of a friend with more woodworking tools than I. He has a Reliant DD34 that we are trying to use, but he didn't get any user/owner manuals with it. any chance some can email me a pdf copy of one? also, don't have any collet wrenches for it, if someone has those part numbers and or pictures of them to pass along, it would be helpful. his looks to be converted to accept router bits, any info on that would be helpful also. thanks for any assistance.

Hi Gordon and welcome. It says available here: https://pedromoreno.info/Reliant_Dd34_Owners_Manual_Manual_Printable_2019.pdf as a free trial for 14 days. Shapers are used to turn much larger bits than routers do. The max for a routter is 3 5/8" where shapers can go ver 5" I think. Therefore they turn much slower, in the 8,000 to 12,000 range compared to a router which is 12,000 to 25,000. If you do the math on diameter and rpm you'll wind up in the same range of linear feet per minute for each bit at their recommended speed. That means for small router bits a shaper is turning too slow.

Welcome aboard Gordon. What parts are ya residing? Can make a difference in models available and power requirements. Maybe not so much in this opening question but on later ones may well be relative.
