repair craftsman router
I have a problem with my Craftsman router either the wiring or motor, in any case I cannot remove the housing to examine it. Made several attempts to remove housing with no success?

You may find that there is dust,and wood chips that are wedged in the base, and housing. Try blowing out any dust, dirt from around the machine, and try to adjust the base as You go. Some routers collect dirt in the worst places.

Stuart, Sears sells Craftsman brand in the US and Canada and there are more of these routers in the market than any other brand. They are built by different companies so you might end up with a Ryobi, Bosch, PC... depends on the model.
Some of the routers have ball bearings between the motor and base; it is best to take these for service by someone familiar with them. (They are a real pain to reassemble)
If you need help with a Craftsman router the first step is to copy down the model number. Many of the manuals are posted in the reference section of the forums. Some models are similar enough to others that the methods are identical for repairs. It helps if you can post a photo of the model you are having trouble with; it saves everyone time checking for the right information.

Can you tell me who makes mine I bought it with out the removable cord and can't find one anywhere. Order one from Sears on line or at the service center, order it for the router below.
About a 15.oo item..
Or you can make your own with a wooden dowel and two push on lugs to fit into the wooden dowel, and just push it into the power hole socket, I did that b/4 I got the right one..
