Had seen these for a while under the magswitch and ridgid labels, thought they were kind of neat, but couldn't pull the trigger on a $40+ featherboard...

Had a little bit left over on a gift card, didn't have anything else high on the purchase list, and they were $10 off, so I figured I'd go ahead and pick one up.

The first thing I've realized is that since they are so easy to position and remove, I use it more than the traditional type. That alone makes it a worthwhile purchase. It is an awesome aid on the jointer, helping to keep boards from rocking and tight against the fence as I edge joint. It won't replace all featherboards, since sometimes the magnets line up over the miter slot, or your router table isn't steel/iron, but that's a reasonable limitation.

The magnets in these things are pretty impressive, when both ends are latched down it's pretty much immovable.

Still toying with the idea of picking up another one, or maybe just some of the plain Magswitch magnets for 'experimenting'.

Good tool, glad I bought it.

**they show up as $39 on line, but are $29 in the stores near me

Hi Doug - glad you like the things, I thought they would work well. All my stuff is either aluminum or composite though.
Did have a little fun with a clerk at Home Depot awhile back. I was hovering (drooling) around the power tools and the kid came up and wanted to push one of 'em on me. I looked at the display of tools and asked him "why, they won't work on any of the tools you have here". Well maybe the drill presses, but that stopped him:)
