I just made one out of poplar for the back plane and bottom with 1/2" MDF for the face..
All you need is a true 90deg fence.. My first one was a piece of aluminum 4" angle with oak for the face..

Hi Bj,
It's a Delta 1 HP single stage dust (chip) collector I picked up at Lowes. It has a 4" hose reduced to 2 1/2 for the saw and router table. It's not the greatest with fine dust but grabs the big chips fine. I am planning on building an air filter one of these days as soon as I can figure out the best way to do it.

Hi George

I see a vac hose going under the ShopSmith and that is what I was talking about.how you have it mounted and what type of pickup you are using uder the saw top.

Maybe a snapshot under the saw.

Here's your pic Bj. A picture is worth a thousand words. The Shopsmith 510 and up comes with a dust shroud that fits around the bottom of the blade. Not the greatest pick-up system but better than nothing.
