router lift placement?

New router table with lift installation on long table saw extension (largely unused space), raises a couple options.
Opt A: placement at end of table installation (foreground)
Opt B: placement on common side of table saw and same feed direction.
Note the extension is only about 27" deep and it's unlikely the Biesemeyer fence won't be used as router fence. Thanks in advance for veteran perspectives. Cheers.

Welcome to the forum.

Just me, but I would go for the bottom option. That way you are not leaning over the fence to route smaller pieces and maintain correct feed direction.

thanks, one of the primary considerations here is the 27" depth of the table saw extension. This obviously limits the router placed at the end to a 27" wide working surface. While the fence can overhang a bit to get to 30~34" long, that horz working surface may not be optimum. This is why I'm asking for experienced affirmation. My long, underutilized table saw extension is shouting for added functionality.

I'm tagging along here to see what the opinions are. I'm thinking option A since you would not have to look over the fence.

I'm also looking to install a router plate in my saw's extension. I may go with another option & mount the plate lengthwise in the extension like seen here.
