I have had the Record RPMS-R-MK2 Heavy Cast Router Table for a few years now, but ideally require a descent router lift, and a compatible router. Could you advise what would be suitable for this table please.

Welcome Gazzerp. Knowing where you are would be helpful as I suspect you might be from the UK since that top is not common here. Most of the lifts I've looked at were originally designed to use the Porter Cable 7518 or 7519 (same motor but variable speed or single speed). Most also added spacer rings for a few other motors like Milwaukee, DW, or Bosch.
These days there are a number of routers which offer built in lift capability with above table adjustment which means the main difference between one of those and a lift is that with a lift you don't have to reach under the table to lock/unlock the router for changes. Without being sure where you are it is difficult to recommend anything because North American routers run on a 15 ampere 120 volt circuit and European routers run on 230 volt circuits and are therefore not compatible.

Glad you could join the fun. I suggest you forgo the lift and get the TritonTRA001, a 3.25 hp router that has its own built in lift. It will cost you less than many of the high end lifts and you don't have to buy two things.

It is $248 on Amazon right now https://www.amazon.com/Triton-TRA00...0779ND0Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479521656&sr=8-1&keywords=Triton+TRA001+router.

It is a great router. I dumped the lift I had and at the suggestion of Harry Sinclair (a valued member here), bought the triton. Was using a 2 1/4 hp Bosch in the table, but the lift and router cost me about $ 420, plus the mounting plate. I still like the Bosch 1617, but there's no comparison with the power of the Triton.

That's my 2 cents. BTW, there was a time when Triton didn't have good distributors here in the USA, but that has changed. Rockler has them and I think a couple of other suppliers have them as well, but the Amazon price is very good.
