Router Recommendation for Rockler's Interlock Signmaker's Templates

I recently purchased the Rockler Interlock Signmaker's Templates. I have a Triton TRA001 router mounted on a table, but would like to purchase a lighter plunge (maybe smaller) router that is compatible with the bushing they provide.

Appreciate any advice.

One of the new, midrange rounters, or even a trim router with a plunge base, work pretty well for that purpose. I have the Triton, but it is far too bulky for me to handle freehand. I have a Bosch Colt with a plunge base (the older model) and I find it far easier to work with than even their 1617. The new one has another quarter hp. I looked at and liked the Makita as well, although I think they changed their brand name. I would also suggest you get a foot switch so you can keep your hands on the router at all times. Doesn't take much to ruin a sign.

Thank you Tom
