However, do any routers available have a method that easily adapts to above table adjustments but that does not require reaching back under the table to lock the position. For that reason alone I have relied on my tilt table, but am I missing anything?
Yep, mine. Homemade router table, homemade plate screwed to the router. Pop the plate and router out, make any adjustments or bit changes, and pop it right back in. Except when I change bits I have whatever bit already in another router, on another plate. Pop one out, pop another in. Usually less than 30 seconds. My new router is somewhere around 15 years old. And I do not like lifts.

If ou want a sturdy router lift, that won't break the bank, go with the Ford router lift.

And if you don't want to reach under the table, then you go with the Chevrolet deluxe router lift.
