Hi all,

Look at some of these details I make for deck posts. I use a template, no sticky tape or screws, I even use the same tool for the V-groove. The layout is pre-set with the tool and allows me to do up to 4 details a minute and with any setting, I could rotate the template as the tool stays affixed to the work piece. The templates are nothing new, the idea is for consistancy, accuracy and efficiency.

What are your thoughts?

Hi Pimen,

I think you have show a good case for the use of templates.

What size were your templates?

Hi James,

I had templates made of 1/4" plastic, they are durable and allows me to use a 1/4 or less bushing guide. The trick is that I could be simetric in every way with the tool I use without measuring a layout on the work-piece. I will be posting this for all on you-tube after I finish several more demonstrations. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks for looking.
