routering dovetails in plywood ?

can anyone tell me a story of how to router dovetails in plywood with min tear out

Hi

It can be done with good plywood (more than 4 layers without any voids in the plywood) and using a sharp (new) router bit. :) a good way to test the router bit,put some paper on a wood block and cut the paper with the router bit with one pull of the router bit,if it cuts the paper you are good to use it, if not it will rip the plywood.. :( but it will be dull real quick cutting the plywood...so get more than one, and use router bit lube.. :) if it's worth doing it's worth doing it right they say..

You can, If I have done it you can too. Pay attention to Bob's post above, although I did not use the paper test.:) I recommend at least 7 ply and take your time setting your jig and bit depth, if the joint is the least bit too tight...Let's just say there is not alot of room for error!
