FYI, just got this notification from Rockler:

Rockler Schedule 40 PVC to 4'' Fitting Adapter | Rockler Woodworking and Hardware

I'd be interested in any others who try this.

Now I just have to find other stuff to buy to qualify for free shipping

Like this?

This particular one is more expensive, but maybe you have another in mind.
Good find, Rob...

As info, you can make your own using a heat gun...heat it and expand or shrink accordingly...saves on shipping... :)

Make wooden templates and make your own adapters out of straight pvc...you can also make bends when you need without buying couplers...

Just a thought...

EDIT...found it. http://www.routerforums.com/tools-woodworking/106218-make-your-dust-collection-fittings.html

This is what i like...

Nice find. Been needed for a long time. Probably only fits Rockler stuff. Doncha love how 4 inches isn't really 4 inches?

Well, if you want to buy, Lowes seems to have decent prices, they offer several.

I have found that Lowes always offers a wider variety of anything I ever want, haven't been in a Home Depot for I don't know how many years.
Sched 40 seems like overkill for dust collection. I used 4" galvanized duct and taped all the seams and joints. Standard fittings fit right on and the metal pipe makes grounding it easy and effective.
Maybe it is just my view point but when I go into the Houston store (they now have two locally), it appears the customers are of the part of society that has more money than brains. Just put simply, it's hard for me to visualize some of those folks being hard core sawdust slingers. Well, maybe some of the turners do some real slinging.

It always seems that I am the low dog on the totem pole when I am there. :surprise::grin:

This new product should sell well to the wanna be sawdust slingers!
