I don't know anything about this router so I don't know if it is worth saving. However, if you mount it on a table then it should be easy to workaround. Simply wire it up so that it is always on. Then control it with a switch-controlled outlet mounted on the table. While you're at it plug in a shop vac so that both go on at the same time. Unless you are doing a lot of unusual stuff the table is where it should be mounted.
