Securing work piece

I’ve made a 24 inch diameter circle gluing 16 trapezoids together but each time I go to route the inside my piece moves! I’ve used gorilla two sided tape along with blocks screwed to butt up against the circle. Still moves!! Suggestions??

Blue tape and superglue will do the trick. Tons of videos on YouTube showing how to do it. I use this all the time and it works great.

I’m not sure if I’m really understanding what you are doing but when I use a circle jig I put two screws through the inner portion near the center that anchor to a sacrificial board below. That could be a problem if you’re wanting that inner circle to be whole but if not then that should work.
I’m really new at woodworking so I’m probably not explaining myself very well, sorry. Thank you for your advise!

if nothing else works you could drill a few screws into the work piece and when done clue a plug or dowel in the hole and sand flush. if screws small enough use ca glue to plug them

I use the painters tape and superglue as David suggested. Put painters tape on back of project. Then tape on bench. Try not to overlap tape but dont leave gaps. Put super glue in various spots The whole surface does not need to be covered but a circle around outside and some on what you are going to cut loose. Press together and let cure for a few minutes. When done peel tape off bench and then off project. Leave some tabs on bench side to aid in removal.

This past 2 weeks I have been using a 23 gauge pin nailer which is working great. Can barely see the pin holes. Faster, cheaper and stronger than tape methods. The bit doesn't seem to mind the pin nails. Just keeps on going. So far it's working great. Might give it a try. I was using 18 gauge nails but the holes were bigger than I liked.
