I decided to save myself some money. At least $80 or more, depending on where you look. I built a set-up gauge out of some scrap ply, oak and a dial indicator I picked up from Harbor Freight for peanuts. I didn't take pictures of the building process, but this is so simple it should be self explanatory.

You are right George that is simple and basic and will not be hard to duplicate---What's that you say, you have already filed for a patent on it!!!??? As you know just kidding. I will file this away for future use.

I made one that is very similar, just a difference of a wood mount instead of plastic brackets. Works great!

That looks great. I guess you could even make a different mount for another tool that may not have a mitre slot.
