This is a military retirement shadowbox with attached flag holder and a matching flag holder I made for a retiring US Navy Sailor.
The wood is more of the Indian dontknow I use in most of my projects.
The shadowbox and holder stand 42 inches tall.
The shadowbox itself is 22 by 28 inches.
The wood between the flag holder and base in both pieces is the same wood, but is stained a slightly lighter color.
Tools used: Planer, jointer, Radial Arm Saw, Router, belt sander, polishing system.
Finish, 2 pound shellac and spray lacquer.

Very nice Pete! As James stated, I'm sure your friend will be proud.
I made one for my Dads memorial flag and some keepsakes from his time in WWII. He passed away last year.
