Looking for a used shaper anyone has that isn’t being used much, was trying to purchase one listed here but they’ve become unresponsive. Mine was stolen and I use it quite a bit for my business. Please contact me if you have one for sale. Thanks

welcome to the forums Nate..
Welcome to the Forum, N8awol. I had a grizzly years ago and it had a router bit adaptor for it. The shaper speed was too slow for 2 cutter router bits, but did OK for the 4 cutter shaper bits. I gave it away and bought a router table.

You might want to upgrade to a router table and you can use this router to shaper bit adaptor to use the cutters you already have.

Shapers are a lot more expensive than a really good router/table set up. depending on what you use it for.
You need to fill in your profile so we know how experienced you are and what tools you already have,

Nate we see guys on here trying to sell them as they probably didn't use them as much as they thought they would but that traffic is sporadic. Just above a members user name is the date that they posted so any you see about a Shaper Origin will be months old right now at the least. You can use our community search function to possibly find old threads or look through old posts in the marketplace sub forum and ask one of us to send them a pm and see if they still have it. You aren't supposed to be able to use that system until you have 10 posts.
FYI - Shaper Origin is a portable CNC.

David
Oops... Thanks David, I didn't know that.

Nate, first of all I’m sorry to hear that yours was stolen .

I have been Leary of them , as we had a few people selling them shortly after they had just come out . They didn’t seem like they had legit excuses for selling when asked , so I and probably a few others assumed it wasn’t working as advertised.
It would be very interesting to hear your perspective or review on one , as obviously you’ve put it threw its paces

I agree Rick. Nate is the first person we've seen who said he couldn't live without his.

I have seen some on the local marketplace FB pages, where are you located ?
Located in Oregon, thanks so much for all your reply’s! I’ve loved mine absolutely perfect for what I needed to do (simple tabletop inlays) if you see any for sale I’d love a link to someone selling one. Even if it isn’t local I’m sure we could figure out a way to make the purchase!

Add your first name to your profile, Nate, so it clears the N/a in the side panel. Also add your location to your profile.

Jump on board and get in on discussions, too.

Im new to the forum. I registered because I have a Shaper Origin I want to sell (but this is a cool forum! Glad I found it). I bought it in Oct 2017. I just dont use it. Its in perfect condition, Im embarrassed to say I made four projects. A 20"relief-cut of a feather in mdf board. I made a small tote box (from their community forum) in 1/4" cabinet grade ply, small name tags for a baby shower and a small pine refrigerator magnet on mothers day with my daughter. Im in Idaho. I am not sure what the rules are on selling stuff on this forum. Let me know if you want to discuss or if you know the protocol.
Thanks
Josh

Hey Josh , I hope you stick around . It’s a very friendly place and we love pics of peoples projects.

Question. Do you know that guy that calls himself Cowboy and competes in Ninja Warrior?
Josh there are no protocols. It's up to you and Nate to make arrangements with each other. The two of you are aren't supposed to be able to send each other private messages yet until you get to 10 posts each. That's to discourage spammers. I'll send you my personal email Josh and you can respond to it and then I'll send it to Nate so that he can contact you off the forum. We can't allow anyone to post emails or phone numbers publicly for security reasons.
You guys are all so darn friendly! Thanks so much guys so so much I’ll be sticking around for sure my email is N8awol at gmail if you’d like to email me. Hopefully this doesn’t go against any rules.

As a side note to the main topic of this post, I’m about to buy some bits, I was thinking of trying the Amana spektra bits, what is your guys opinion of them?

Amana Israel, very good bits... Made in Israel on the bit...
Amana china, not so good... Made in china on the package but you really have to look for it...
short operating life...
same profile on two different bits don't match...
both are the same price...
From past dealings w/ Amana, their CS leaves a lot to be desired and you wanting...
VOE on this one...
You can easily tell the Amana Israeli made from the Chinese made ones. The Israeli made ones have a lot of detail information finely and clearly etched by laser on the shafts. I think they say Made in Israel and have info like operating rpm, radii, bit number, etc. The Chinese made ones have an Amana logo crudely etched on the shank and no other information.
