A traditional CNC know where the router bit is based on the measurements of the machine. The Shaper Origin doesn't have those measurements. The tape is used by the shaper origin, with a builtin camera to determine its location within the cut
Fantastic view of the future of routing. I suppose it will get better,and better as time goes by. thanks for posting.
