I have not had much time to share anything going on in my woodworking life lately. My wife and I purchased a 15,000 sqft building about 3 1/2 years ago. So far the building houses a 1700 sqft 3 bedroom apartment we live in currently, and my shop at about 3200 sqft. We are turning one 2200 sqft section of the building into a Gluten Free Bakery my wife will run, as she is a master baker. Anyway I am making hardwood flooring for the Bakery and the area directly above the bakery that will become our home. So I have been looking for a good deal on a hardwood for the flooring and the display cabinets for the retail sales area. I came across a great deal of 6,000 bdft of mixed species 4-5’ lumber
for .80 cents per bdft. needless to say I nabbed it up. After piling it up I am even more excited the lumber is all premium grade, almost no defects. the wood is simply beautiful. I ended up receiving Ash, Hard Maple, soft Maple, Hickory, Cherry, Birch. The little bit I have started planning is awesome.

I still have 2 packs in my trailer to unload where am I going to put it. Normally it would go in my storage area
but my wife has it kind of full with bakery stuff.
It sure does smell good though. I also just received my order for sheetgoods about 40 sheets of Baltic Birch
10 sheets of domestic maple plywood, MDF, and all the countertop substrate and adhesive.
My shop is running over with material right now. And even though most of it is already planned for projects
it just feels good to not have to scrounge for a piece of plywood.

Thanks for taking the time to read and especially comment.
Have a blessed weekend and fun making some dust, Todd

Jealous, I am.

Kudos to your wife, Todd. We have a grand daughter that has to stick with gluten free foods.

I have to say I'm envious. The only hardwood growing in my area is white birch and it isn't really considered a commercial species.

I was certainly grateful for such a blessing the cost is less than 1/2 what I normally would expect to pay. Because so much of it is planned for flooring the piles will go down rather quickly.
But for right now I am very excited to see it all in the shop.

Thanks to all for your comments they are truly appreciated.
have a blessed day, Todd

I did not mention that one of the owners at the mill told me he has a bunch more coming up soon.
I don't know if anyone lives close to me in NY near Syracuse, But I might be able to help you get in on some of this.

Have a blessed day, Todd

Hi Todd, I see you have your priorities correct,

The 'shop' is nearly twice the size of the 'apartment'.......

Like Everyone Else, jealous .......

Joseph,
I would be happy to line up a shipment for you I imagine the shipping cost may be a little high though. How many thousand feet should I order for you.

It is always good to dream, Todd
