Simple CNC Router

Hi

I own a watch business and want to start selling wooden watches. I currently use a Laser to engrave my watches however this is not suitable for wood. I am not an expert in this fiedl and the machine i currently use for normal watches allows me to import a PNG/JPEG, set the parameters and away it goes, really easy

I wondered if a machine existed that would allow me to carve the back of the watches with text that was also easy to use and if any one had any recommendations?

Thanks

You can use the laser to engrave the wood watches.

It doesn't work that way for a CNC router. You'll need to bring that image into a program, define what to cut, choose tooling, generate a G-code, and then cut (simplified steps, btw).

Ok yeah that is what i am finding. I suppose then are there any other machine types you are aware of that would carve the watch rather than marking as the black finish doesn't look great IMO

Thanks

G'day @Carl1986 Welcome to the forum.

I have seen some youtube videos from "Wood Work Web" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMd9JgqSESwyuOs0yuSTlEw
where Colin appears to be wearing a wooden watch.

Maybe he has a video on the process, or drop him a line.
Welcome to the forum.
sounds like maybe a rotary engraver would fit your bill...

Carl, if you don't mind may we see what's being done now?
How small are you talking here? We know watches are small.

a simple CNC  ? That would be wonders!

Hmmm... I bet @Albert Z currently building his machine might be of help.
Not that you want one built, just for picking the brains.
