splintering

when i cut using a mold trim bit, it always splinters on the corners when i cut across the grain.
how can i prevent this?
i'm using a table router sys

Make your cross the grain cuts first the with the grain. This will clean up any tear out.

ejant is correct you need to do an end grain first then rotate the piece and do a with the grain cut followed by the next end grain and lastly the side with the grain.

Now if you still have problems things to check for are a dull bit, taking to heavy a cut but give above mentioned method a try and get back to us if you are still having problems.
