Marco is correct on sanding before you cut. It's a little easier that way. With those shaped sanding blocks, I tend to wait til it's done. Using the 3M sanding medium, I find it takes very few strokes to get a great surface, and I want to even up any offset in the corners if there is a slight warp (Happened on pre-milled stock I've purchased. Making your own profiles from a slab avoids that, so sanding before assembly makes sense..
