Suggestions appreciated (CNC Purchase)

Morning!
I am looking at purchasing a CNC router but have been overwhelmed by all the choices of companies. I would love to hear any suggestions of what to purchase or any sites that they are sold on in used condition. I live in Illinois.
Few things,
I was looking at units in the few thousand dollar range.
Primarily, it will be used for a funeral home that we own. And would be used for small wooden “coins” that have inspirational word or phrases that we would engrave on.
Ease of use would be great since I am new to this and my dad would be running it as well and is new.
It did peek my interest if there was a possibility of having a CNC to engrave on urns as well. Not sure if that would fit in the few thousand dollar range however.
sorry for the long rant but excited to hear back from you all!

welcome to the forum - what part of the world are you in ?
oh, it's not a rant at all - it's a valid question. hope you get your needed answers.
While we'd love to see you with a CNC router and all it can do when it comes to engraving things like you've mentioned a laser might do a better job. Can you give us an idea of the sizes of the pieces you'll be engraving? Are these urns ready made or will you be be making those, as well?
I have considered a laser as well but I would like the router so I can do other fun type projects as well.
the urns if we decide to do those would be blank canvas urns meaning we would engrave or etch the persons name, dates, etc on those.
primarily it would be for those “coins”.I was thinking about 2-3” in circumference shaped pieces of wood with words like “love, cherish, etc” on those.

You should check out either the Next Wave systems or the Axiom systems. you don't say what part of Illinois you're in, but if you're close to St.Louis you could check out the machines at a Rockler store.

Laser allows for alot fun projects to and work more than only wood personally we put inscriptions on urn on Metalized Plaque Via Laser But we working with way more than wood and products of other ppl so that is way simpler and streamlined example: https://www.allabouturns.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/urns-for-dad.jpg
G'day @adamthelumberjack , welcome to the forum...

Would you like to introduce yourself in the "Introductions" section, so we can understand a bit more about your router uses?
