Hi I am new to woodwork and have just purchased a Makita Rpo900 router and wanted to mount it under a table , is this model able to be mounted for this purpose and if so can the bit be raised from the base ( when mounted)

Jim - most any router that is not the "plunge" style with two legs will work in a table.
I had a Bosch plunge router in a table for years, BUT - it was not the optimal choice. I removed the springs in the legs and made it into one solid frame so it wouldn't budge.
for a novice and someone that doesn't change bits often, it is "okay".
if you change bits and elevation often, you may be more satisfied with the designated Router Lift.
clue us in on your hobbies and how a router would be used in your shop.

Thanks John I am only a novice woodworker and plan to start small easy projects in my retirement. I am hoping to work up to more challenging pieces as I learn. I would love one day to be able to build bed side chest draws and even a bed head one day
