Table saw not square

1452 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Cherryville Chuck
Hi Guys,
I just got Micro Jig's dado stop pro and I have been cutting a few dados but they aren't fitting. I am wondering if my blade is square or it may be my miter guage is not square to the blade. Any suggesting on testing this out. Ive tried several times to square my blade with a combination square but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

check the gauge to the blade w/ a framing square that is proven to be square...

Joe, I built this gauge to check my table saw for square. You can buy the dial indicator on eBay pretty cheap.

but you have to make sure the blade is parallel to the miter slot...
time to go through your saw w/ a fine t5oothed comb,...

Here are some articles that go into the nuts & bolts of the adjustments. You don't say what kind of saw you have; I have a cabinet saw and don't have any articles on adjusting the blade-miter slot other than the one from an old edition of Woodsmith, this should be covered in your manual.
