Tent

Had a request fron Rochester, New York for a camping sign with a lot of text to fit in. Not very original, but the best I could do with what I had and $$ they wanted to spend. It's about 14 x 9 with 4 coats of Spar Urethane.

Big Polish Festival was this weekend. Attendance was down probably 40% from last year. Weather was hot, but no rain. Of course they were competing with 4 other "events" in the area the same time. People weren't spending on the higher priced stuff like before. Mostly smaller cheaper things. Lots of lookers and "I'll call you". But we still got rid of over a hundred items total and got 22 custom orders. Hmmmm - Wonder if I should cancel my trip to Alaska to see Scott because of work. Nah..... they can wait an extra few days.

I like the way the tent and trees go outside the border of the main piece. Another fine job, John!

That’s the part I like also.

My friends father in-law used to make a living selling at trade shows etc , and said he always had higher end items, but made sure there were cheaper items available for him to sell also ,as somedays that’s what was selling

GO! SEE! SCOTT! Just my opinion. Your latest project looks to be up to your standards. Actually, I’m just running out of adjectives. :)

Wow John awesome design! I agree with the others; love how the tent and tree are dimensional outside the sign. (I may have to steal a portion of that, even if it won't be as fancy as a CNC  )

Be my guest. Can you use an image as some sort of pattern? And it's not fancy.
Take a holiday John, you have earned it many times over.

I'm happy your weekend was not a bust. Sounds like you made out alright tho and 22 custom orders is not bad at all.

I hope you told those people with custom orders you had the trip scheduled to Alaska and would be working on their projects within some kind of timeline based on other orders you already had.

I do see from the design you used for this sign you are already learning from Scott so I hope to see how your 4 days of painting instruction influences your work in the future.

If you want to save some time for painting class you can teach yourself to count to 10 while on that long flight to Alaska or at least get to 7 or 8 and be ahead of the game.

The objects going beyond the borders is something I've noticed in Scott's work too. Nice sign, John. Have a great trip.
