I just joined your community. I'm a novice woodworker. My motivation for woodworking is attributed to my 12 year son who has an interest in World War II vintage weapons. Replica/toy versions simply are not available. Air gun replicas are available and are north of $100. We have completed one project thus far using a jig saw, sander, and creativity. My son is delighted with this first effort which has motivated me to take on the next one. This time I've equipped myself with a RotoZip and I am in the market for a router. I'm sure I'll benefit greatly from the accumulated knowledge in this community.
Welcome to our family of woodworkers Steve. Glad you found our community. You are right about the accumulated knowledge here. What do you plan to use the router for?
Thanks Dave. At first I will use the router to round the edges of the replica guns I'm building and also to make some interior shapes. I don't need the best pro grade router but I also don't wish to buy a router that won't support my needs if I get into more complex projects.
