I haven't used my router a lot until now. I'm at the beggining of cutting tenons to build a garage door.

I did a test cut which went fine. I then put in my first project board. It started fine but then for some reason I got bit runout that vibrates so bad and so loud I just shut it off. I checked everything to be sure nothing was loose but found nothing. I turned it on and it was fine for a moment and then started again. After I shut it off again I twisted the bit by hand and I could see that it wasn't running true. But why would it go in and out?

Is this something I can fix or do I need to replace it.

Got any photos? That always helps. Do all bits do this or just that particular bit? Is it bent? Does the router run true and smoothly without a bit?

try using some different bits.
(and remove the word "sold" from the heading that leads us to think that it was "for sale" and now it is "sold")

It's removed. I haven't tried another bit yet.

Many years ago an old friend came over to my shop with his 2 hp router and a long straight bit that he was having vibration trouble with. He
wanted me to see if I could determine if the bit was at fault or the router. I chucked the bit into a metal lathe and put a dial indicator up against it . The bit was fine. Next I checked the router shaft. It was way out of whack. The router was only a few months old and hadn't been used as yet. My friend had bought it at Sears during their annual winter tool sale, advertised as their top of the line router. When he took it back the salesman looked at it and immediately said "Oh one of the sale routers." How can you tell Dave asked. It's supposed to be your best router at half price. The salesman told him that the serial numbers were the clue. The only thing that this router shared with their on sale router was the case, all the internals were of a different quality. Perhaps Lowes uses this same trick,

Yeah, I definitely think it was a got ya sale. You can't find anything accessories to go with it. I'm thinking Bosch or Triton if I have to replace it.
