Some things just weren't meant to be painted - this is probably at the top of the list.
If you are going to paint it, you may as well make a rubber mold and make cast resin reproductions of the inside and make a real wood frame like you have now for the outside out of different woods and sell them on the internet.
The upside of the project would be you only have CNC hours in the outside frame and painting.
