Getting him started out well with the safety glasses :sold:

Hope you are liking that Ridgid, I sure have enjoyed mine so far.

Nice looking saw as well as a nice looking Grandson Deb. Enjoy both.

Not being familiar with this saw I need to ask: What sort of dust collection does it offer? If it is an open bottom there is a neat set up Sears used to offer for attaching a shop vac but it would be simple to convert to a 4" system. I really need to make plans for members to build their own.

The TS3660 has a plastic shroud around the blade below the table. This ducts out for hook up to a DC. Works OK but I'm sure it would work better if I had a real DC and not a dinky little shop vac on mine. :) Most of the time I just leave it disconnected and clean up at the end of the day. The shroud and duct seem to do a decent job on their own of directing the stuff into a pile around the back, left leg of the stand.

Hi Deb

I made my own :),, I took a plastic flower pot, put in a 2 1/2" plastic fitting and screwed to the base under the saw,, now it works like a clone vac system and sucks about 95% of the dust from the saw..I use a big vac systems but with a 2 1/2" hose going to the saw.

I had some pictures but can't find them on the HD :) but it's a easy one to make and a cheap fix.. the flower pot is one that has a top ring about 16" in diam...a 5.oo dollar item at just about any garden shop..little black paint and you would think it came with the saw.. :)

That is a very clean TS3650, the TS3660 is the granite top saw. I have had my TS3650 for several years before getting into woodworking. I have looked at the TS3660 and frankly I would not trade. The fence on the TS3650 is far and away much better, but not being an authority on such matters I may well be wrong.

For the present I use a Ridgid Shop Vac on mine, I keep the filter wrapped in "half an old "T" shirt". That makes it so much easier to clean. I believe you will enjoy that saw, I plan to enjoy mine until I acquire a Delta or Powermatic saw or the like. Happy cutting kiddo it is a great saw.:dance3::dance3:

I sure wish it was, but no it's the cast iron top TS3660.

I know an online store selling band saw machines. The problem is I still cant include URL's in my posts. I hope I can reach 10 posts asap.
